A 'Must Have' for your library whether a novice microsurgeon or an experienced one

I was asked by a resident in training 'what is the best way to improve my microsurgical skills?' In addition to simply practice, practice, practice it is essential to understand the fundamentals. All too often in training, an attending will answer the question 'why is it done this way?' with 'because that's the way it's always been done.' I would never accept that explanation. You will never learn anything if you don't understand the why.
This book is great because it explains not just the 'how' of microsurgical techniques but also the 'why' using clever schematic drawings to explain the physics involved in each motion/technique/procedure. Once you visualize the 'why' you will internalize the fundamentals and never forget them.
It is a great reference book if you have been in practice for many years as I have but for the novice I think it should definitely be in their must read/must have collection.

Thought it was out of print. It is not a book to read the entire way through but is used for referencing particular ares of microsurgery.
