Flesh and blood

This has to be the most captivating,most enthralling book I have ever read.This book is so short but magnificently written and is outstanding.Gave the book 5 stars because it is the type of story that stays with you.The book is unforgettable.The book
chronicles the love of a woman toward a gargoyles. This is the story of Yvette and Alexander..The love is salacious and the sex is raw and utterly hedonistic. My only complaint is I wanted much more! I recommend this book if you are into paranormal erotica.

I took a chance and I'm glad I did

Yvette has been obsessed with gargoyles and spend time drawing them as much as possible. After a few days of drawing one particular gargoyle Yvette notices that he seems to have moved. Letting that go she goes home, at night she is awakened by a storm and remembers dreams that seem more real than dream. The next night as the storms continue her balcony door is opened and she finds she's not alone. Her gargoyle has come for her after she awakened him and he won't take no for an answer. But Yvette wants this as much as him, till the dawn when Alexander must leave. Alexander is shocked that Yvette cares for him and tells her it may not be the end.

I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book, but I ended up really liking it. The writing is very good and though it's a short story I never felt like I was missing anything important. The ending was great, I had no clue how this book would end after reading some reviews but I loved the ending. I would have been really happy with an epilogue, I would have been ecstatic if this was a full length book, just so I could have gotten more. I really liked Alexander and would have loved to have gotten more from him. With that being said this is still a great novella that I would recommend to anyone who wanted a quick hot read.

Haunting and soulful, more than erotica

After reading my first-ever gargoyle paranormal book - and liking it - I quickly downloaded samples of other gargoyle romances, based pretty much on whether or not I liked the book cover. Out of the four that I picked, this was the only one that I kept reading past the sample (and the others were by much more prolific PNR authors). While I was irritated to find it was only 46 pages, I didn't care because that author had already pulled me into this haunting, erotic story.

Here are some adjectives to describe this book: hungry, passionate, atmospheric, artistic, dark, moody, soulful. It has an intriguing beginning, a scorching middle and a hopeful end. There is a certain "seize the night" mentality between gargoyle and girl that leads to a fledgling love. Is this erotica? Yes. Is it more? Yes!

I bought the first 4 books last year, but didn't read them until this past week! I "binge" read all four and am ordering #5 and preordering #6. Not only are the plots great, but the characters are so well developed that a personal relationship with them is inevitable! Strongly suggest that one should start with the first book and read in sequence. It will permit the reader to form the character links but will not affect the stand-alone plots. I seldom rate any book with 5 stars but the four I have read so far are each worthy of 5 gold stars!

This book turned out very much better than I expected. Blondes seem to be the favorite murder victims of many authors. He is a good author and about halfway through the book I no longer could stop reading till I finished.

This was a very enjoyable mystery story. Beautifully laid out, engrossing as it proceeded step by step through the clues, and with an ending that was very heartfelt that leaves the reader with a sense of satisfaction and deep connection with the characters in the book. I felt it was the best of the Nick Dixon series.

Great Refresher or Beginning Studies With Astrology! Worth Reading and Buying!

I am learning astrology and out of the many books I'm looking at and reading, I have found this book to one of the better ones for a semi-beginner. The presentation of the material is easy to read but better than that it is simple to grasp. Since astrology is such a deep subject with greater knowledge it is important to find the right tools to learn from. I really liked this book, I feel it really has helped me learning this subject, of course its not the end-all of astrology because astrology is so vast, but its a great refresher or beginning, the author knows how to spell also, some books out there even lack proper spelling in their work. I believe this is a great book for one's private library collection. Some of the astrology books out there are just window dressing with little information to help one learn about astrology so I am thankful to this writer and the presentation of this book. I have enjoyed the read and study!

I bought this book and the astronomy 101, and i will definitely buy the others. This book is great for beginners a d those who just want a refresher. So far this is the best book about astrology when it comes to covering birth charts. Many books about astrology have some wrong information but everything in this book seems to be right and very general.

A baroque master

Marian has incrusted her pages with decoration, linear curves married to straight lines, step-and-repeat patterns that mystify, tiny, multi-colored, and intricate, a synthesis as organic as lyrics and musical notes. Each page is a cornucopia of texture, and snuggled within are her words. Fresh, lucid, sage, and romantic that echo the decoration. Many words are light-hearted, some deeply personal, a few are set in a personal font, coded and decorative, titled "Secret," that are perhaps infused with romance (decoration in itself is a romantic idea). The chapter on the Griffth Park Observatory in Hollywood is a gem in the essence of the word. A jewelry collection whose existence is strange--in an observatory? One to rival the exquisite output of Julius Arthur Rosenberg. The chapter is worth the price of the book. Marian is a dear friend and rarely have I encountered written words that so accurately replicate an author's spoken voice. The book is beautiful and ideosyncratic, at first glance the binding appears to be simple, textured foil. A closer inspection reveals Marian's genius of densely varied curves that miraculously step-and-repeat, a baroque and subtle reminder that Marian's genius and kind, introspective heart is to be visited time, and time again.

Engaging, surprising, and delightful

While reading Marian Bantjes book I laughed and cried. I was provoked to think with my heart. For some chapters I needed a tissue, others, a dictionary. And I love that Marian is brave enough to cuss on the printed page. The texture, design and content is delicious and thoroughly entertaining.

I was grateful for the opportunity to look into another world and to be stretched. (I mean who thinks to critique the alphabet?) What a joy! My eyes darted from text to design and back again on every page, afraid I would miss something, as if it might disappear if I didn't understand it all at once. Lucky for me I could slow down as each page waited patiently for me to catch up, and read again. I was able to soak up the entire story and design before I continued all the while, knowing I will read it again, because there is more here than a first read can grasp.

Read this book with a notebook by your side, it is perfect food for rich conversations. Every chapter is a complete story and as much as I wanted to read it all in one sitting, it is better to savour this masterpiece. Like a piece of good chocolate, too much all at once would be opulent, but not obscene, after all I Wonder, By Marian Bantjes is the "good stuff".
