Just the right fit.

A gorgeous textbook. I'm homeschooling a high school son, and wanted him to acclimate to textbooks in prep for university. I have read and reviewed a large number of texts and this one is very clear, well written and visually uncluttered though it still has a generous amount of pictures, graphics, and illustrations, maps, document boxes. I compared it directly with the Human Odyssey Vol. 3, written by the same authors, approximately I really like this book better. HO vol. 3, I believe is written for about the same age/grade levels, but Our Human Story seems to be arranged just slightly differently, while most of the content was identical, and both are in an extremely readable/accessible style of writing. I believe that the Human Odyssey vols. 1 and 2 are written to a younger level, so that vol. 3 would be a natural progression. I wanted something that flowed thru, the whole World History, on the same level. I originally was just wanting to find HO vols. 1-3, to review, wanting a really even-handed history, and not liking other middle school, high school or college texts. I was ready to settle, on a well-liked Spielvogel text, but stumbled upon this, and feel like I found a real treasure. I want to read it....might do so. We have not used it enough yet to be sure, but I think it is going to fit our needs quite nicely.
